WOOD

I have  a network of local farmers, landowners and builders who contact me if there is a supply of wood that can be salvaged. I usually go to the sites with a pry bar, a hammer, a saw, some pliers and an eye for potential. I've been to old warehouses, worksites and many old barns.

I also sometimes get wood that has been milled by a couple local farmers from large trees that have fallen down or recently been cleared out.

I store all the wood for at least a year to make sure it is dry and disease/fungus free.

While it is sometimes necessary to buy some new wood for certain projects, I try my best to use wood that is already out there being unused.

ACCESSORIES

I use as many vintage fittings, nails and accessories as I can, but use new hardware as well. This way I can be sure my work is solid and will last as long as possible.
